LINDABURY DONATES HOLIDAY GIFTS FOR THE BOYS AT BONNIE BRAE
December 24, 2009
Employees at the law firm of Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper P.C., headquartered in Westfield, New Jersey, recently donated 48 athletic bags of gifts to Bonnie Brae, a residential treatment center in Bernards Township. The center, which is a client of the firm, provides educational and therapeutic treatment for adolescent boys with behavioral disabilities.
The bags, which were discounted by The Sports Authority of Springfield, were filled with sweatshirts, sweatpants, tee-shirts, pajamas, hats, gloves, socks, i-Tunes cards, electronic games, DVD’s, books, school supplies and snacks, and will be distributed to residents at the center.
The donation was organized by the firm’s Women’s Business Initiative and led by shareholders Anne S. Burris and Athina L. Cornell. “We were happy to have an opportunity to give back to the community,” said education law attorney Ms. Cornell. “In the past, we have sent care packages to soldiers in Iraq. This year we thought of Bonnie Brae and the young men that are being helped at the center.”
“We had a great response from the employees,” said automotive attorney Ms. Burris. “I think the idea really touched them, and they gave thoughtfully and generously.”
The Women’s Business Initiative (“WBI”) at Lindabury provides opportunities for professional women to develop and support business and mentoring relationships with other women professionals. As part of its mission, WBI participates in a number of community service initiatives a year. The project involved employees in the firm’s three New Jersey offices, located in Westfield, Summit and Rumson.

Judge Anzaldi joins John M. Boyle, also a former Union County Superior Court Judge, to expand the firm’s alternative dispute resolution practice.

He has also served as Acting Assignment Judge and Acting Chancery Judge. He earlier served in the Family Division and in the Criminal Division for eight years.
In his time on the bench, Judge Anzaldi presided over hundreds of jury and non-jury trials and thousands of settlement conferences. In addition to environmental matters, he has adjudicated cases involving insurance disputes, construction law, the Law Against Discrimination, the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, partnership dissolutions, medical malpractice and personal injury.

LINDABURY ATTORNEY APPEARS BEFORE THE APPELLATE DIVISION OF THE NEW JERSEY SUPERIOR COURT
October 29, 2009
On Wednesday, October 21, 2009, Edward J. Frisch, partner in the construction law group, appeared and presented oral argument in the appellate division of the NJ Superior Court in Alan O’Shea and The Mechanical Contractors Association of New Jersey, Inc., vs. New Jersey Schools Development Authority, and the State of New Jersey.
Mr. Frisch delivered the position of the Mechanical Contractors Association, challenging the ability of the New Jersey Schools Development Authority to implement a pilot program of up to six "design-build" school projects, having a value in excess of $225,000,000. Mr. Frisch stated that the proposed design-build program would undermine the competitive bidding policies of the State of New Jersey, and thus would be contrary to the taxpayers' interests. Furthermore, it would threaten to reduce the opportunities for the MCANJ's members and other tradesmen to successfully compete for plumbing, HVAC and other subcontracts. It would incentivize the three or four general contractors chosen to repeatedly use subs who maximize the GC's personal advantage, rather than give a broad based opportunity to all qualified trades, who like the MCANJ members, offer the best competitive prices.
