Scott Yaffe joined the firm in July of 2003, to serve Of Counsel in Lindabury’s New York office. He has more than twenty years of legal experience and nineteen years of construction law experience. He has been practicing construction law exclusively for the last ten years.
Scott has represented a variety of construction clients in New York and New Jersey, including general and prime contractors, subcontractors, sub-subcontractors, sureties and material and equipment suppliers. His representation has been for both public and private work and has involved contracts, liens, bonding, insurance, assignment, and claims relating to nonpayment, delay, defective work, wrongful termination, and public bidding.
Within the construction industry, Scott has technical expertise representing HVAC, electrical, plumbing, steel (structural, decking, and ornamental), framing, temperature control, ice rink, acoustical panel, wall system, foundation, window, insulation, tile, stone, brick, flooring, concrete, sheet metal, marine gangway, elevator, scaffolding, electrical generator, painting, environmental abatement, and mill work subcontractors and suppliers.
In addition to having a solo practice in the 1990’s, Scott was an attorney with Altieri, Kushner & Miuccio, P.C., concentrating on construction law for subcontractors, and with whom he founded and managed the New York firm’s New Jersey office.
