Scott’s practice focuses on the representation of institutional lenders and business borrowers in all aspects of commercial lending and restructuring and real estate transactions, including but not limited to commercial loan workouts, debtor and creditors’ rights litigation, bankruptcy practice and transactional work in loan documentation. Scott also represents buyers, sellers, landlords and tenants in commercial real estate matters. Scott has coordinated many loan restructurings and other transactions involving borrowers located across the country in numerous and diverse industries, including healthcare, real estate development and telecommunications. Formerly general counsel to a commercial lender, he also counsels lenders with respect to issues that arise under the Uniform Commercial Code, particularly under Articles 3, 4 and 9. In addition, Scott represents title companies and their insureds with respect to claims that arise under insured mortgages and other provisions of title insurance policies.
Scott has been included in various New Jersey Super Lawyers* publications, from 2005 through 2011, in the areas of bankruptcy and loan workout litigation. Scott has lectured at presentations that he has conducted for the New Jersey Institute for Continuing Legal Education, the New Jersey State Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Institute and the New Jersey Bankers Association.
